Who is Photon Arts?

Photon Art was founded in 2021 by Jan Wickenkamp, a video game enthusiast, and Sebastian Chmiel, a tech enthusiast. We are a small german indie game studio with currently two people consistently working on project “GameChanger”, while getting additional support from different external contributors.

In crafting our games, our mission is to blend the thrill of gameplay with an immersive atmosphere that feels both fun and intuitive. Each project we embark on is designed to be a unique experience, adding a dash of excitement without trying to completely reinvent the wheel. Our goal is to bring fresh twists and unexpected combos to well-loved genres, giving them a new lease on life. Take, for example, our current game development project, where we’ve mixed elements from genres like “Action-Adventure” and “Shoot ‘Em Up.”

Now, what ties all our games together is the magical universe we want to build around a special star called Photon. It’s the heart and soul of the Photon System, giving every world and story we create a shared cosmic vibe. You’ll spot the Photon star in each game, though its role may vary – it’s our way of weaving a bit of cosmic magic into our storytelling. That’s the story behind our name, a nod to the star that sprinkles a bit of cosmic charm across all our games.

Project GameChanger

Welcome to the realm of GameChanger – an exhilarating 2D-Action-Adventure awaits!

Embark on an epic quest as the liberator of the Interworld, leading Raid’s virus against the Never-ending Dragon. Dive into the open Interworld, solve intricate puzzles, and engage in thrilling shoot ’em up battles against counter viruses.

Explore our unusual world with complex dungeons, each offering a unique challenge. Uncover optional upgrades through puzzle-solving, mini-games, and battle arenas, enriching your journey and revealing the secrets of the Interworld.

Immerse yourself in innovative puzzle-solving with switch puzzles, physics challenges, and agility games. GameChanger’s dungeons aim to capture the classic “dungeon feeling” with unexpected twists, inviting you to discover the surprises that lie beyond the puzzles.

Challenge the collective intelligence of counter viruses spawned by the great portals. Use your projectiles not only to solve puzzles but also to fend off adversaries. Encounter counter viruses throughout the world, each form posing a different challenge. Engage in battle arenas against smaller portals, proving Raid right—you have what it takes.

Delve into the depths of dungeons, explore the mysterious Interworld and interact with the lively community of tamed counter viruses. Demonstrate your skill and unleash chaotic firepower as you overcome challenges on your journey to face the dragon. This time, show them you’ve got what it takes to succeed, unlike the devastating past encounter that left both the Interworld and Raid forever changed.

“GameChanger – Episode 1” will be the first Episode in the GameChanger Series. The development started back in June 2021 and the final product is set to release in 2025.
